Jammu and Kashmir’s State Investigation Agency (SIA) announced a major breakthrough on Saturday, saying it arrested the alleged mastermind behind a narco-terror network at Mumbai airport. He had been on the run since 2023 and was reportedly operating from Saudi Arabia.
According to a spokesperson, the suspect — Mohammed Arshad, also known as Asif — hails from Degwar-Terwan village in Poonch’s Haveli tehsil.
Describing him as "the kingpin of a narco-terror module and key link between Pakistan-based handlers and narco-terror operatives in Jammu and Kashmir," the spokesperson said that the SIA had earlier issued a Look-Out Circular (LOC) against Arshad in 2023, followed by a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) from a competent court.
