A man was pronounced dead Friday night after he reportedly fired shots at McCracken County deputies during a vehicle pursuit, then crashed his vehicle into a house.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., deputies were involved in a vehicle pursuit in the Lone Oak area. Deputies said that during the pursuit, the suspect fired multiple rounds at deputies on several different occasions. Several rounds struck deputies’ vehicles.

The pursuit ended in the 200 block of Lone Oak Road after the suspect’s vehicle ran into a house. The suspect was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

No occupants of the house were injured, and no deputies were injured during the pursuit.

The McCracken County sheriff has asked Kentucky State Police to investigate the incident.
