FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (PIX11) – An 80-year-old man was killed when he was hit and killed by a stolen car on Long Island on Friday, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Police said it happened on Woodward Parkway in Farmingdale around 11:45 a.m. Peter Morris was getting into his 2012 Hyundai when he was struck by a man allegedly driving a stolen 2013 Nissan, according to authorities.

Police said the driver, identified as 24-year-old Randy Colon, ran from the scene on foot after the crash. Morris was rushed to a local hospital, where he died, according to authorities.

Police said officers later found Colon, of Hicksville, and arrested him. He was charged with manslaughter, criminal possession of stolen property, grand larceny and leaving the scene of an incident resulting in deat
