1 dead, multiple people rescued in Milwaukee apartment building fire

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Fire Department says one person is dead and multiple people were rescued following an apartment fire during the morning hours of Sat. Nov. 8.

The fire broke out at the building near S. 1st Street and Layton Avenue.

Upon arrival, crews found one person dead on scene and transported another victim for injuries.

MFD says multiple others had to be rescued from the apartment fire as well.

The fire is now deemed under control.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
