SALT LAKE CITY — A teen was rushed to the hospital after being shot in the leg, according to the Taylorsville Police Department.
Just after noon, according to Lt. Aaron Cheshire with TPD, the teen was shot in a nearby McDonald’s parking lot after a fight broke out. He was transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
Six schools in the area were placed on secure protocol, with Taylorsville High School being on complete lockdown. Police said the lockdown had since been lifted.
The shooting had no connection to the schools in the area, but police were dispatched to the schools as an extra precaution to ensure safety, according to police.
The suspect was still at large and had not been located at the time of publication.
