PEMBROKE — UNC Pembroke soccer player Mercy Bell recently broke the school record for career goals and now has 45 career goals to her name, averaging an impressive 11 goals per season. This has made her the focal point of UNCP’s offense over the last four seasons.
“I think it’s an incredible record to break because it was tied between Melanie Cobb, Anna Grossheim, and now obviously, Mercy broke that record,” UNCP coach Lars Andersson said. “Both Melanie and Anna are legends in our program with multiple All-American accolades, which Mercy has as well. It’s a tough record to break to get 45 goals. That means she’s averaging over 10 goals a season.”
With 45 goals so far, if she didn’t score another one, she would end her career averaging 11 goals per season. Her sophomore season in 2023 ama
