Before kickoff at Texas Tech on Saturday, ESPN’s "College GameDay" delivered more than pregame hype; Pat McAfee, one of the show's most eccentric personalities, drew a heated reaction from the crowd by praising one of the Red Raiders' biggest in-state college football rivals.
After talking about how competitive the Big Ten is ahead of Iowa vs. Oregon, McAfee paused to point out "the only undefeated team in the state of Texas" — Texas A&M — and immediately drew a chorus of boos.
McAfee praised A&M quarterback Marcel Reed and the Aggies’ defense, boldly saying in front of the Lubbock crowd that the Aggies "have it all."
He also gave a shoutout to Texas Tech linebacker Jacob Rodriguez as a dark-horse Heisman candidate, but it did little to win over the Red Raider faithful.
