Melbourne is at breaking point as hundreds of teens from dozens of gangs drive the city’s violent crime surge, with most offenders still roaming the streets despite multiple arrests.
In an exclusive interview as part of 7NEWS’s new series ‘Breaking Point: Five Nights. Five investigations’, Victoria ’s Chief Commissioner revealed the shocking scale of youth gang activity plaguing the state, and his answer to it.

He revealed how police have mapped the state’s gang network and the hundreds of criminals preying on the community.
“What we’ve got here is a depiction of the 33 youth gangs that we’ve got operating in Victoria, particularly across Melbourne,” Chief Commissioner Mike Bush said of the graphic.
