Winter is coming early for Niagara beginning Sunday and into the start of the week, including Remembrance Day on Tuesday.
A special weather statement has been issued for the entire region warning residents about snow which is expected to begin Sunday and continue throughout the evening.
Temperatures will dip Saturday evening to about 3 C with periods of rain starting after midnight. Rain is expected to turn to snow near noon on Sunday.
As much as 10 cm of snow is expected to accumulate in parts of the region so drivers are advised by the agency to be extra cautious in the morning with the possibility of difficult driving conditions. Travel plans could be disrupted, and poor weather conditions may contribute to delays said Environment Canada.
