CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground delay at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport due to staffing issues.
The FAA lists there was a ground stop from around 7 a.m. on Saturday until roughly 9 a.m. Since then, there has been a ground delay, with flights in Charlotte delayed about an hour and 20 minutes.
The ground delay is expected to last until around 2 p.m.
Many other airports around the country, including Boston and D.C., issued ground stops or delays for similar reasons. This is largely due to the active government shutdown, which has hit a record-long of 39 days.
According to FlightAware's misery map, Charlotte leads the country with 93 delays and 63 cancellations. Nationwide, there are 9,695 delayed flights and 1,070 cancellations.
