The race in the SWAC East division is very much alive in Week 11, and for Alabama State football (6-2, 4-1 SWAC), it'll have to do it without quarterback Andrew Body.
Body injured his throwing shoulder in Week 10's matchup against Prairie View A&M after diving into the end zone for a touchdown. The severity and timetable for Body's return is still unknown, but against Texas Southern (4-4, 3-2), it is confirmed that Jacksonville State transfer Te'Sean Smoot will make his first start at QB for the Hornets.
Alabama State will need to continue to find a way to close out conference games without Body at the helm if it wants a chance at the SWAC title. Smoot led two scoring drives in the second half against Prairie View A&M to hold onto the 31-28 win in what was the Hornets most importa
