An infant died after being found unresponsive at the YMCA of Newark and Vicinity on Friday morning, Nov. 7, officials said.
At approximately 8:00 a.m., YMCA staff were alerted to an unresponsive infant resident, according to YMCA CEO Michael Bright.
Emergency services were called immediately, and staff began resuscitation efforts, Bright said. EMTs arrived around 8:15 a.m. and continued treating the child.
“Sadly, despite these efforts, the infant passed away,” Bright said.
No additional information was immediately released.
