PHOENIX — A Phoenix man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a woman west of downtown Phoenix on Friday morning, authorities said.
The Phoenix Police Department identified 47-year-old Jeffrey Rael as the man in custody.
Rael faces a charge of first-degree murder and is being held on a $1 million bond, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers responded to a home near 19th Avenue and Grant Street for a domestic violence call around 3:40 a.m. on Friday.
According to Phoenix police during the 911 call, Rael wanted to report that he had killed his girlfriend.
When police arrived on scene, officers made contact with Rael and took him into custody.
