CM exhorts people to light 5 Diyas for martyrs on foundation day

The Uttarakhand government increased the pensions of the statehood activists on the eve of the State’s 25th foundation day.
The pension of the activists who were jailed for seven days during the statehood movement or were injured during it will be increased from Rs 6,000 per month to Rs 7,000 per month. The announcement of the enhanced pension was made by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in a programme organised at Police Lines on Saturday. The CM also offered floral tributes to statehood martyrs at the martyrs’ memorial at the collectorate.
