Stephen Miller of Albion, a village of Medina firefighter and paramedic, enlisted in the United States Air Force in April 1998 a year after he graduated high school.

When Miller, who grew up in Medina, told his father he was interested in joining the Air Force, his father drove him to the Batavia recruiter station the next day. He is a member of a family with a long history of members of the Armed Forces.
