CHICAGO (WLS) -- Ground stop and departure delay alerts are no longer in effect at Chicago O'Hare International Airport on Saturday afternoon, according to the Federal Aviation Administration website.
A ground stop due to staffing issues was in effect from 11:24 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. with a medium (30-60%) probability of extension.

A departure delay, also due to staffing issues, was impacting flights as well. The FAA website said delays were averaging 15 minutes and increasing.
Both alerts have since been removed from the FAA website.
This comes as federal employees have been working without pay, with some taking side jobs to pay the bills amid the government shutdown.
