The Washington Commanders’ plan to build a new stadium on the site of the former RFK Stadium, scheduled to open in 2030, may come with a twist .

According to ESPN, President Donald Trump is urging Commanders owner Josh Harris to name the stadium after him.

A senior White House official confirmed that informal discussions have taken place with someone in the Commanders’ ownership group, headed by Harris, regarding Trump’s wish for the new domed stadium in Washington, D.C., to carry his name.

The stadium is set to be built on the site of the former RFK Stadium , the team’s home from 1961 to 1996, during which they won three Super Bowls.
