Home prices and sales in metro Phoenix climbed in September, bucking the summer slowing trend.

The increases came even as the number of houses falling out of escrow was higher than normal due to both buyers and sellers pulling out of deals.

October is on track to be an even stronger month for the Valley's housing market based on preliminary sales.
