Nov. 8: Mets could be 'heavily in on' Bellinger
According to Sports Illustrated's Pat Ragazzo , "don't be surprised if the Mets are heavily in on" Bellinger this offseason. The 30-year-old could address the team's need in center field or at first base, assuming Pete Alonso doesn't return to Queens . On that issue, Ragazzo writes that "the expectation" is the Mets will let Alonso walk away via free agency "unless he takes a team-friendly deal."
Tyrone Taylor, Jeff McNeil and Cedric Mullins got the most starts in center for the Mets last season. However, the Mets, per Ragazzo, are expected to field trade offers for McNeil this offseason, and Mullins is a free agent.
