WELLSVILLE, N.Y. — Two teens died early Saturday morning after an SUV carrying six teens left the roadway and struck a utility pole in the Allegany County.

The crash happened at 2:24 a.m. Saturday. According to New York State Police , a 2020 Buick Encore carrying six teens failed to navigate a sharp curve on Tarantine Boulevard in the Town of Wellsville, left the roadway, then hit the pole on the driver’s side.

State troopers said their investigation determined the vehicle had been traveling east when it veered off the roadway. The Buick was carrying six people, all teenagers.

The 17-year-old driver — along with a 14-year-old front-seat passenger and two rear-seat passengers, ages 16 and 15 — had minor injuries. All four were transported to Jones Memorial Hospital for treatment.
