GRAND FORKS — At a Grand Forks School Board retreat on Friday, district leaders discussed ideas to decrease the budget deficit, including combining elementary schools and decreasing support staff positions.
The retreat was part of a larger budget realignment conversation, after the district announced a $4.4 million deficit in the 2025-2026 budget. At the retreat on Friday, board members, administrators, district leaders and principals came together to discuss different concepts that would cut down on budget expenditures.
