A GoFundMe page said to be set up by Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner has been launched, begging people to send thousands of pounds to leave Germany.

The convicted rapist and leading suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine launched the fundraiser following his release from prison. He had been serving a seven-year sentence for the rape of a 72-year-old woman in Portugal's Algarve region, where little Madeleine went missing. He previously spoke of setting up the fundraiser, telling a friend: "If people want me to leave then they make this possible by helping me to this end."
