As of 1:30 p.m. the outage affected neighborhoods such as Leimert Park, Westlake, Mid-Wilshire, Palms, Koreatown and Baldwin Hills, NBC 4 reported on its website.
An hour later, the outage appeared to be mostly fixed, according to the LA Department of Water and Power’s outage map.
But it wasn’t before the Los Angeles Fire Deparfment received nearly 60 calls for people stuck in elevelators since 1 p.m., due to the power outage, department spokesperson Margaret Stewart said.
A department spokesperson was not immediately available for comment.
