A local family is honoring their son's legacy in a big way.
On Saturday, the Skinner family put the finishing touches on their float for the Rose Bowl Parade in memory of their son, AJ.
He was just 12 years old when he died of a sudden brain hemorrhage, and remembered for having a big heart and curious spirit.
In the wake of the tragedy, AJ's parents decided to donate his organs, a decision they say went on to save several lives.
AJ has been selected by New England Donor Services (NEDS) to be honored as an organ and tissue donor at the annual Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year’s Day in Pasadena, California.
His float — AJ's Floragraph — is a floral portrait of AJ that celebrates organ donors from across the country.
