KENNER, La. (WGNO) — Kenner police said that 15 people were detained by ICE as part of a community safety operation at Kenner Pier Park on Friday, Nov. 7.
According to the Kenner Police Department Facebook page, KPD, along with ICE, FBI, DEA and the Louisiana State Police, conducted an investigation at the Kenner boat launch area around 9 p.m. Friday night.
This operation was at KPD's direction due to "long time issues dealing with everything from trash, noise and traffic complaints received from Kenner residents," according to the Facebook post. KPD surveilled and gathered a lot of information before executing this operation.
Kenner police said that residents should feel "safer" in or around the park.
