SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A woman is in life-threatening condition after she was brutally attacked with a pipe and left under the Common Street bridge.

On Nov. 7, at 1 p.m., the Shreveport Police Department responded to an incident on the 800 block of Cotton Street.

Once on the scene, a witness told officers that a white man approached him and told him that a Middle Eastern woman needed help on Common Street under the bridge.

The Shreveport Fire Department found an adult woman in serious condition under the Common Street bridge. The woman was bleeding from the face and the head.

SFD transported the victim with life-threatening injuries.

Once notified of the seriousness of the injuries, SPD upgraded the investigation to a second-degree attempted murder.
