BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - With a cold snap expected early next week, HVAC companies are encouraging homeowners to prepare their heating systems before the first freeze of the year.
Technicians are already responding to calls from customers wanting their heaters and appliances checked before temperatures drop.
“We usually typically get probably 10 to 15 calls a day when the winter kicks in and people are looking to turn their heat on,” said Jason Gerard, sales manager with One Hour Air.
Gerard said those calls will only increase as temperatures reach below freezing, but preparation is key.
Clear attic clutter around equipment
“Probably the best thing you could do is try to remove any clutter in the attic because those boxes there up there, they get hot, and there’s pipes that come out.
