GRAND FORKS — A special guest on the North Dakota State sideline on Saturday afternoon was Craig Bohl, he of the 0-2 lifetime record against the University of North Dakota. As the head coach at NDSU in 2003, he lost to UND in the Alerus Center, the last Bison season in Division II.
As the head coach at Wyoming in 2014, his Cowboys were beaten by the Fighting Hawks in Laramie. There was no “win one for Craig” slogan going on around the Bison bench, but that’s what they accomplished in a 15-10 Bison win that was all bash and not much flash.
Craig was an ol’ ball coach. So is NDSU head coach Tim Polasek. And so is UND head coach Eric Schmidt.
So when the Fighting Hawks, who were leading 10-9, faced fourth-and-1 near midfield with 4:30 remaining in the game, there was no question what they
