ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST (KABC) -- Two women were found safe by a search and rescue team near Switzer Falls after the pair of hikers got lost in the Angeles National Forest.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the women used the iPhone SOS feature to request help, which provided rescuers with the hiker's precise location.

"Our station texted them to stay put because help was on the way," Mike Leum, a search and rescue group leader for the Sheriff's Department, wrote in a social media post Friday . "I grabbed two trainees and we took off down the trail. During our search the station then told us that they were cold and screaming. We increased the pace."
