The University of Alabama System is requesting more than $800 million in state funding for fiscal year 2026.

The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees unanimously approved a 10% increase to operations and state maintenance appropriations for all three of its schools and the UAB health system at a meeting Nov. 7.

The UA System will request about $808 million from the state legislature for the upcoming fiscal year. That’s an increase of about $73.4 million from the current fiscal year, according to Dana Keith, senior vice chancellor for finance and administration.
