EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The annual Four Freedoms Veterans Parade marched down Franklin Street this afternoon — continuing a long-standing Tri-State tradition of celebrating veterans past and present.

The parade kicked off at 2:00 p.m. featuring local veterans’ groups, first responders and community organizations all showing their support.

Some veterans watching the parade say they’re happy to know their community cares about the sacrifices they’ve made.

“I’m proud of what I did because that’s what allows me to see this and other people too,” one veteran said. “We enjoyed it, we come every year.“

Officials say the parade is a long-standing tradition that pays tribute to service members across generations.
