CASS COUNTY, Texas (KETK) - Travis Ransom announced on Saturday that he'll be running for a second term as Cass County Judge in 2026.

Ransom was first elected to the role in 2021 and also currently serves as a Brigade Command Sergeant Major in the US Army Reserve. In Saturday's announcement, Ransom listed several accomplishments from his first term in office, including: • "Improved county finances with clean audits and strong reserves — without raising the tax rate." • "Increased support for Road & Bridge, including a new $4 million Transportation Trust Fund." • "Raised salaries and strengthened retention across county departments, including support for law enforcement through SB22 grant funding." • "Opened a full-time Veterans Service Office and secured over $1,350,000 in grants
