LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — Three time Nebraska’s Strongest Man Dillon Gartner hosting Nebraska’s Strongest competition in Lincoln for the first time Saturday, bringing in more than three dozen competitors.

Gartner has worked in corrections for nine years, with the raffle proceeds from Saturday’s event going to support the Correctional Peace Officers Foundation .

Gartner has been competing since 2019, and said the hardest part is actually eating — anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 calories a day.

“We have to be athletes. We have to move. We have to be flexible. We have to go from point a to point b and also be able to pull heavy weights off the ground and push them above our head too,” Gartner said.
