CICERO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- Kevin Toms lost his best friend, Griffin Engle, to cancer at just 7-years-old. 11 years later, Kevin's fundraiser has raised over $26,000 for Griffin's Guardians.

"In universal pre-k, Kevin met Griffin, and they became instant buddies; we called them Batman and Robin," says Kevin's mom, Lori Lake Toms. Lori says Kevin came up with the idea for "Can Crush Cancer" during the pandemic, looking for a way to raise money for Griffin's Guardians as the world was shut down.

"We thought, jeez, if he raised $200 it would be a miracle," says Lori. That year alone, Kevin helped raise over $2,000 for children going through the same battle Griffin went through.
