EAST LANSING — No. 14 Arkansas brought one of the top freshman classes in the country to face No. 22 Michigan State on their home court.

It was the Spartans’ freshman that got the job done in East Lansing Saturday night as Cam Ward’s 18-point, 10-rebound double-double in his second college game combined with Coen Carr’s 15-point night pushed MSU to a 69-66 victory over the Razorbacks.

Carr opened scoring with energy on a fast break, driving to the basket and elevating for a rim rocker past Arkansas’ Trevon Brazile that set off the crowd at Breslin Center.

The Razorbacks (1-1) countered with offense from Detroit native Darius Acuff Jr. and veteran forward Nick Pringle. But it was an 8-0 run, emphasized by a crafty pass from Carr to forward Jaxon Kohler that sent the Spartans (2-0) out in
