The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognisance of the tragic road accident in Rajasthan’s Phalodi district in which at least fifteen persons were reportedly killed after a tempo traveller collided with a parked truck on the Bharatmala Expressway near Phalodi.

A Bench of Justices JK Maheshwari and Vijay Bishnoi will hear the case on November 10.

According to reports , the accident occurred near Matoda village when a tempo traveller carrying pilgrims from Sursagar in Jodhpur to Bikaner’s Kolayat temple crashed into a stationary trailer truck. The tempo traveller was reportedly travelling at a high speed when its driver lost control after failing to notice the parked truck in the darkness.
