STOCKTON, Calif. —
The Stockton Emergency Food Bank is seeing longer lines as families face financial strain due to SNAP benefit uncertainties.
"We are the emergency food bank. We serve people in an emergency. This is an emergency and that's why we're here," said Alesha Pichler.
Cars have been lining up at the Stockton Emergency Food Bank as of late, with 678 cars visiting compared to an average of 450 cars before the SNAP cuts. "We have been experiencing longer than normal lines all this week and we've just been five days in," Pichler said Friday. According to a spokesperson, the food bank has seen a 35% increase in demand.
