UK drivers have been warned that an illegal yet common habit persists - and it needs to stop. Motoring experts shared eye-watering statistics, showing that although people know the consequences, the driving offence still occurs.

Experts from RAC Drive revealed that there has been a worrying increase in the number of drivers who admit to regular handheld mobile phone use to make or receive calls. In their study , some admitted to doing it "sometimes" with others saying they do it "all the time."
