LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A person is dead after a hit-and-run crash in the east Las Vegas valley, according to Metro police.

Around 8 p.m., police responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian on Nellis Boulevard and near Lake Mead Boulevard.

One person succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead, police said.

Nellis Boulevard is closed at Monroe Avenue as police conduct their investigation, according to RTC Southern Nevada.
