ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico United is headed somewhere it has never been. The Black and Yellow got a second-half stoppage time goal from midfielder Dayon Harris to unlock a one all tie with Orange County and send them to the USL Championship Western Conference Final.
The 2-1 victory was witnessed by over ten thousand fans who kept the noise level up the entire match. United was the first to score in the 49th minute when team leading scorer Greg Hurst notched his eighth goal of the season.
The lead held until the 68th minute. Malik Pinto sent a shot home for Orange County for the equalizer, squaring the match up at one each. The match looked to be headed for overtime before Harris fired a rocket into the net to deliver the win for United.
