A historic local pub has reopened this week under new management. The Virgins and Castle in Kenilworth flung wide its doors to welcome customers new and old from lunchtime on Friday (7 November).
Dating back to the 1500s, the pub is the oldest in the town, and new management have given it a sensitive refurbishment so it retains that unique ancient ambience. Eden Hospitality Group, who also owns The Racehorse in Warwick , took over the pub last month, closing it down for just under two weeks to implement the required changes.
This includes a general manager and head chef, as well as a spanking new menu. The venue held a soft launch the evening before opening so CoventryLive went along to see what it's like.
