THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A decision has been taken to make former minister K Raju as a representative of the CPI in the Travancore Devaswom board. He is a member of the CPI state council. It was initially decided to make Vilappil Radhakrishnan the member. However, considering the communal situation, the CPM suggested that Radhakrishnan be replaced. The chief minister then requested CPI state secretary Binoy Vishwam and following that, K Raju was chosen.

Meantime, former chief secretary K Jayakumar will take charge as the president of the Travancore Devaswom Board. The decision was taken at the CPM state secretariat convened on Friday.
