A woman’s body has been found inside a home in northern NSW, sparking a police investigation.

Emergency services were called to a house on McNamara Avenue in South Grafton just before midday on Sunday regarding a concern for welfare report, with police discovering the body of the woman believed to be in her 30s.

A crime scene has been established, with forensic police examining the site. Nine News reported the woman was suffering injuries to her neck and her death is being treated as suspicious.

The woman has not been formally identified. A postmortem will determine the exact cause of death.
