In a crowning moment for one of the most distinctive bands ever to spring from Detroit’s rich musical soil, the White Stripes were inducted Saturday (Nov. 8) into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Onstage at L.A.’s star-studded Peacock Theater, Jack White received the honor with a poignant speech that served as a love letter to his Detroit roots and a sweet tribute to his White Stripes partner, Meg White, who did not attend the event.
