An army veteran who endured two years of "heat pump hell" is finally set to receive a refund after refusing to pay outstanding bills for a heating system which did work.
Dave Mundy, 55, was confronted with debt collectors after refusing to pay for the faulty heating system in his home.
However, following a campaign by the Sunday Mail , Heat Pumps Scotland Ltd has decided to drop a civil suit against him and agreed to repay the government loan that Dave, from Gartcosh, Lanarkshire , took out to purchase the heat pump.
The company has also committed to covering the cost of reinstalling Dave's old gas boiler.
This comes after a distressing two years for eco-conscious Dave and his wife Mira, following a botched green energy refit by engineers.
