New drone footage has given a first look at a new train station currently being built at Balgray, south of Barrhead .

Construction of the £18.3 million station began in July, and it is now starting to take shape, with the new footage showing where the future platforms will be.

Overhead line structures have also been installed, and drainage and earthworks have helped prepare the ground.

Due to be completed in autumn next year, the station will consist of two platforms connected by a footbridge with lifts.

It will also have waiting shelters, ticket machines and secure bike storage.

Now that initial foundations have been laid, the next phases of construction involve building the footbridge and starting work on the station's car park, which is to have 80 spaces.
