ALTON, N.H. —
The National Transportation Safety Board released a final report on Thursday, months after a pilot undershot the landing area at the Alton Bay Ice Runway.
Investigators said two people were on board the Beech A36 when a part of the airplane's nose and right main landing gear made contact with a snowbank on the morning of February 23, 2025.
No injuries were reported. The plane sustained substantial damage, the FAA said.
The pilot told investigators that she used an icy snowbank as the aiming point for landing because of an online video viewed the night before.
Investigators said the pilot also confirmed there were no pre-impact mechanical malfunctions or failures that would have "precluded normal operation."
