BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 30-year-old man in the Collegeville neighborhood.

According to police, around 10:14 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, North Precinct officers were on their way to respond to a domestic altercation call in the 3200 block of 32nd Street North.

Police say as officers were on their way, they saw a car driving away from the location at a high speed. Police say they believed the vehicle was fleeing the location.

Officers were able to stop the car and detain the driver.

According to authorities, the prior call was soon updated to a person shot. Other officers arrived on the scene and found an adult man lying unresponsive on the porch of a residence.

The victim was later identified as Anson Quandar
