'The legend lives on': Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald still resonates 50 years later Nov. 10 marks the 50th anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald wreck, perhaps the most famous of all the estimated 6,500 ships that have gone down in the Great Lakes.
