Areas in northern Indiana are seeing the first accumulating snow of the season. Additionally, the lake effect snow machine is also starting over Lake Michigan in NW Indiana and the Chicago area. That's where Winter Weather headlines are posted. For central Indiana, no snowflakes yet but that will change later today.
With more scattered snow showers expected, as the cold air rushes in, that's the story later this afternoon and through Monday. Minor accumulations of around an inch are possible central and northeast, with lesser amounts southwest. Any sticking snow will first be on grassy and elevated surfaces. But as the temperatures drop, be aware of a few slick spots on the roads. This will be something to monitor for the Monday morning commute.
